Labour candidate
says "Lay off our schools and police" 29 June 2009
Castle Point's Labour
Parliamentary candidate, Julian Ware-Lane, calls on Rebecca Harris to "come clean on cuts".
The Tories have finally
admitted just how much they want to cut from the services we all use and need like schools, and the police. One of David Cameron’s
top colleagues has let slip that the Tories plan to cut public services by 10 per cent in Castle Point
"People I speak to in
Castle Point say that they want a visible police presence. David Cameron's 10
per cent cut would mean less front line police officers. In Castle Point Conservative
cuts could mean losing police officers on our streets, potentially leaving our streets much less safe. Figures are showing
reductions in crime in Castle Point – I do not want to see this reversed.
"My challenge to Rebecca
Harris is whether she supports David Cameron 10% cuts to the services we all use and need like schools and the police. Other
investment like new roads or better buses and trains are at risk too. People
in Castle Point deserve to know where they stand. It's time for the Tories to
come clean on whether they support cuts in Castle Point."
