Castle Point Council seems to be destined to go down the slippery road of re-introducing car parking
charges throughout the borough. Sad to think that lessons don’t seem to have been learned.
Despite in the past, charges have been introduced and have been twice hastily abandoned
after a short time.
It
is noted that Councillor Smith (Economic Development and Business Liaison Cabinet Member) in the Local Press 15 Dec was asking
residents to shop locally to support local traders. Maybe there is some inter-member deafness within the ruling group on the Council, because
encouraging people to shop locally and introducing car parking charges without doubt, are opposing policies.
Let's hope
that common sense prevails.
