POLICY
H5 - SAFEGUARDING OF LAND FOR LONG-TERM HOUSING NEEDS
LAND
TO THE SOUTH OF THE CHASE AND EAST OF WENSLEY ROAD, THUNDERSLEY IS SHOWN ON THE PROPOSALS MAP AS SAFEGUARDED
FOR THE LONG-TERM PROVISION OF HOUSING. THIS IS AN AREA OF SPECIAL RESERVE TO TAKE ACCOUNT OF POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENT NEEDS BEYOND
THE CURRENT PLAN PERIOD. UNTIL SUCH TIME AS REVIEWS OF THE STRUCTURE PLAN AND LOCAL
PLAN SHOW THAT THE LAND NEEDS TO BE RELEASED FOR HOUSING, THE LAND WILL BE KEPT FREE OF DEVELOPMENT WHICH WOULD PREJUDICE
LATER COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT. VALUABLE LANDSCAPE AND WILDLIFE FEATURES WILL BE PROTECTED.

Housing Delivery (Report AF/4/Housing/17/05/05)
Para 2
Table 2, attached as an appendix to this report, indicates that Castle Point has exceeded the
targets set out in both the Structure Plan and the emerging Regional Spatial Strategy between the period 1st April 1996 and the 31st March 2005. These completion
figures take into account the continuing redevelopment of Kings Holiday Camp for permanent
residential caravan usage. The annual completion rate varied considerably during this period, even though there was always
in excess of 200 outstanding planning consents for new dwellings. This reflects trends in the market

And why did Cllr Norman Smith,
while voting against the proposal not support Labour’s proposal for a Full Council Decision rather than by a small Tory
clique.? Is there an election in May 2006 and who is likely to be the Tory Candidate? You've guessed it.
Well as it turned out, the Councillor
needn't have bothered voting against the proposal, because he was allocated the Safer Boyce ward Seat at the expense of the
sitting Councillor Mrs Gail Boland.
